We called On Your Mark because we wanted a flexible approach that would both inform product development and validate design direction for our Carter’s and OshKosh brands. The consumer panel they created allowed us to tap into consumer insight at key points in the product development process, as well as learn more about what our moms’ thought and bought. For Real Simple magazine, in fact for all of Time Inc., this was the first time a panel was created exclusively for editorial use — to help inspire, refresh, and act as a reality check. While it was initially designed to inform editors, the value soon became apparent to other departments — such as ad sales, marketing and PR – who all wanted access to the panel members as well.
